What you see
A telemarketer offers you a contract. They know your name and your city.
What happens behind the scenes
A company combined it with other information, then sold it to telemarketing firms.

What you see
"Unusual activity on your account, please confirm your information." The message uses your first name.
What happens behind the scenes
A service where you have an account was hacked. The scammer uses it to write a believable message.

What you see
Someone found your address without you giving it to them.
What happens behind the scenes
Anyone can find it by typing your name into a search engine.
You can't stop what you can't see. We look for it on your behalf.
Where it comes from
A data broker is a company that gathers information about individuals, cross-references it and resells it, often to telemarketing companies. Most of the time, it does this without your knowledge.

Simplified diagram
A form, a sweepstakes, a sign-up: you leave a name, an email, sometimes a phone number.
It shows up in a directory, or a hacked service lets it slip out in a breach.
It cross-references the information with other sources to build a profile, then resells it.
Telemarketers, advertisers, scammers: they contact you already knowing your name.
Directory sites, profile pages, public records: anyone can find them by typing your name into a search engine.
What we check
Pages that list your name along with an address, a phone number or relatives.
These companies hold files you can't look at. That means we can't prove they have your data.
What we check
Which data brokers in our registry may hold your information, and how to ask them to remove it.
When a service is hacked, its customers' email addresses end up in circulation. They're then used to craft booby-trapped messages.
What we check
Whether your email address appears in a known breach, which one and when.
Your peace of mind
No ID and no credit card either. Your name, your city, and your email are enough.
You need a 6-digit code sent to your email to read it. No one else can view it under your name.
You can ask us to delete your scan at any time. Nothing is sent on your behalf without your approval.
Private databases and closed accounts are outside the scan. An empty report is not a guarantee.
After your report
The scan and the report are free, and they will stay that way. After that, you can act on your own with the guidance we give you.
We're preparing a service that will send removal requests for you. It isn't open yet. Leave your email to be notified, no commitment.

How it works
Three steps. Only the first one takes any time.
You tell us who to look for
Your name, your city, your email, and one detail like your birth year, so we can set aside people who share your name.
About 1 minute
We search for you
We search the web, people-search directories, our registry of data brokers, and known breaches. We keep only what probably concerns you.
About 3 minutes
You read your report
For each result: where it appears, what information is visible, and what you can do next. A code sent by email protects access.
