Terms of use

1. What this service is
Remove Me offers a free scan of how exposed your personal data is online: a search of the public web, a check for known data breaches and the identification of data brokers that may hold your data. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
2. Free, with no account
The scan is free and does not need an account. You enter your identity and contact details, then receive a 6-digit code by email that protects access to your report. We may change or stop the service at any time. The service is intended for adults.
3. Scan yourself only
You may only scan your own data. Do not use the service to look up another person, to enter someone else's email address without their agreement, or to get around its technical limits (rate limiting, anti-bot check, code lock).
4. Results are not complete
The results rely on public sources and on automated analysis. They may contain errors (people with the same name, outdated information) and do not claim to list everything that exists about you. A report that finds nothing is not a guarantee that your data is safe. The “This isn't me” button lets you dismiss a result. The report is not legal advice.
5. No warranty, limit of liability
We work to provide a reliable service, but it is provided “as is”, without any promise of availability or of the accuracy of third-party sources. To the extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for how you use the report. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law of your state does not allow to be waived.
6. Your personal information
How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
7. Governing law and contact
The publisher is a French company, and these terms are governed by French law, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of the state where you live says otherwise. If you have a complaint, write to us first at contact@remove-me.io; we will do our best to resolve it.
